Multi-cultured, Multi-language, One nation: India

India is a nation of multiple colors that are combined in one region. With one of the oldest civilizations in the world, India is diverse and rich in heritage. In many aspects, India has grown and is the seventh-largest country in the world. The country has technologically changed and transformed into a modern and powerful Economy.

Even though India is a country that is constantly progressing, there are a few aspects of it that will remain unchanged and cherished indefinitely.

The Culture and Heritage

India has preserved the existence of its culture, art, and heritage. With people growing, learning, and adopting new developing ways, it has still kept a hold on the basic culture, aesthetic value, and perceptions that remains dynamic among people. It embraces the combination of religions, traditions, and customs. The heritage sites are like a walk-through history that keeps diversifying with every dynasty.

Anything and everything, from Indian handiwork to silk and cotton textiles to ethnic jewelry, they have all been passed down as a legacy from ancient times and is being passed down generation after generation. Food in India is a legacy and part of Indian heritage, with distinct appearances and flavors from each state.

Multilingual

With a population of over 1.3 billion people, India is a diverse country. It is home to a diverse range of languages, and it is common for people to speak and understand more than one language or dialect, which may necessitate the use of multiple scripts. While bringing all of these various languages with us, we are building our country toward change. Despite the fact that India is a nation rich in diversity in terms of language, culture, and heritage, the country’s citizens remain united. In India, people speak a wide range of languages.

There is no doubt that Hindi is the most widely spoken language, but it is still not known as the ‘Matra Bhaasha’. As a result, translating business material into Hindi would only reach 53% of the population. This is due to the fact that each state has its native language, which its citizens speak and treasure. There are 122 major languages spoken in India, with up to 1599 others.

India is the hub of multiple languages and it is addressed as the power of the nation in the digital era for businesses. The diversity of language has been changing the way businesses are speaking. The digital world is reaching out to every inch and corner of India implementing the Vocal for Local initiative. It is an opportunity for every individual to leverage digital services.

However, businesses and brands are still unable to achieve their full potential through their services, and the most common reason for this is the language barrier.

India, despite being the center of most of the languages involved, is still unable to make full use of them. Businesses should know that their users are diverse, many of them might know English and Hindi, but they are more comfortable in their native language. Because of the language barrier, it increases the probability of reaching out to only limited traffic.

As a result, it is important to implement multilingual services. When you use multilingual customer service, your customers will be able to communicate with you freely and fluently. This makes contact easier and provides a more natural customer service experience.
